Deuter Helmet Materials

D stands for Denier, a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weighs 600 grams. The higher the value, the stronger (and generally heavier) the material.

PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly resistant to tears and abrasions, are easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.

PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are particularly durable, elastic, and lightweight, making them ideal for textiles subject to high stress.

REC stands for Recycled; the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.

Bluesign® Certified

Consumer products bearing the Bluesign® product label meet the stringent safety and environmental requirements of the Bluesign® system criteria. Textiles and accessories used in the production of Bluesign® certified labeled products are manufactured in a way that conserves valuable resources and minimizes the impact on people and the environment.

PFAS-Free

This Deuter product is manufactured by us without the use of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances that are harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS is also used as a coating for rain protection thanks to its water, dirt, and oil-repellent properties.

Instead, Deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, which is harmless and environmentally friendly.
