The Deuter Race Air is an ultra-lightweight and durable cycling backpack with exceptional comfort for its weight. Specifically designed for cycling, the Deuter Aircomfort back system, with a mesh back panel split in the middle, means even less of the pack is in direct contact with the back, leaving more room for a rounded spine in the riding position. Air mesh hip fins, perforated shoulder straps, and back padding ensure maximum airflow and a firm, comfortable fit. This climate-neutral, PFAS-free mountain bike pack uses bluesign® certified 100% recycled body fabric and components made using eco-friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices.

Deuter Race Air Materials

100D REC PA HT BRIGHT

Lightweight and durable polyamide fabric. High yarn density provides exceptional strength. The ripstop structure is designed as a honeycomb structure and gives the fabric a special appearance.

D stands for Denier, the unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the stronger (and generally heavier) the material.

PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly resistant to tearing and abrasion, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.

PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are particularly durable, elastic, and lightweight; ideal for textiles subjected to high stress.

REC stands for Recycled; the material is produced entirely or partially from recycled sources.

Benefits

By stabilizing and evenly distributing the load, the tread system relieves strain on the back over longer distances. Effective ventilation along the tread reduces the load on the circulatory system, thus saving energy.

PFAS-Free

This Deuter product is manufactured by us without the use of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS is also used as a coating for rain protection due to its water, dirt, and oil repellent properties.

Instead, Deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellent) impregnation, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.
