MSR Responder T (E) Snow Shovel
Weighing 625 grams, the MSR Responder Snow Shovel is lightweight for a full-size shovel and also offers a 490-gram setup option. The Responder shovel has a two-section telescopic handle; MSR has cleverly designed it so you can use it in its compact length, extended length, or leave one section at home for minimum pack weight.
The length from ground to handle is 818 mm, so you don't need to bend your back to use it, or 523 mm in minimalist (digging on your knees) mode.
We also like the flat profile of the MSR Responder, especially when the handle is fully removed, as this makes packing or carrying in a backpack much easier than a heavily curved design.
Six holes make it easy to use as a snow shovel, and the wide-diameter shaft is easily gripped even with gloves.
