Scarpa Mojito Bio Lifestyle Walking Shoe

The Scarpa Mojito Bio is the first Scarpa product to be 100% biodegradable. In fact, the materials that make up it have been modified to be more easily degraded by bacteria and other natural microorganisms. Intertek's Green Leaf certification states that after 45 days under controlled conditions of the ASTM D5511 standard, the percentage of biodegradation in the sole, tread, and upper materials is already between 6% and 8%.

Upper: Made from PET yarn woven using a knitted technology. This shoe is produced using the most advanced technologies in biodegradable materials processing. This ensures that no traces of plastic remain in the environment after the decomposition process. The packaging is made with FSC-certified paper.

Footsole: Presa® Sole URB-01 is made from two components. A mid-density biodegradable EVA midsole for maximum stability. The outsole is made from a biodegradable compound containing natural rubber. It offers excellent grip and a durability similar to synthetic rubber. Lacing: Extended toe laces, borrowed from the climbing world, for maximum customization and a comfortable fit.

100% Biodegradability: The majority of shoes are expected to end up in landfills, creating significant environmental impacts. SCARPA's GREEN LAB focuses on reducing this impact by accelerating the decomposition process.

Simplified Sole: Remove the rubber toe cap and heel to eliminate waste. The elimination of metal eyelets further simplifies the decomposition process.

Presa Sole: Both the midsole and tread are made of biodegradable materials certified to ASTM D5511 Standard.

Intertek's Green Leaf certification confirms that the materials used in the sole, tread, and upper biodegrade between 6% and 8% after 45 days, compared to the average for standard shoes of 6% to 8%.
